As soon as I began riding at SoulCycle, I thought it was business that needed an app. The way their clients engage with the company (outside of the studio) is through booking bikes for class. I knew the experience would be enhanced and the business would grow if people could book classes on their mobile device.

This is a concept app design should look like based on my knowledge as a rider and later as an employee. A little while after I began working at SoulCycle in August 2015, they launched an iOS app. I used a flat design style as well as colors and graphic elements consistent with SoulCycle’s current branding. My design uses finer lines and more straight edges than their current app design but still matches the brand's strong visual branding.

I added new elements that I think could enhance user interactivity with the brand and overall experience, like adding notes to class history and setting your region when you sign up. I also think that the bike booking and especially adding to the waitlist should be a two-step process to prevent user errors.
